This page works alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers everything else you send us through this website.

1. We never sell, rent, or trade your information

We never sell, rent, or trade your information. We only share what is needed with the trusted services that help us process your gift, send receipts and updates, keep accurate records, and run the website.

2. What we hold

• Your name and email address.
• The amount and date of each gift, and whether it recurs.
• Anything you chose to tell us in a note alongside the gift.

Your full card or bank details are handled securely by our payment processor, and we do not see or store the full numbers.

3. Recognition is opt-in

We will not print your name on anything without asking. If you sponsor at one of our tiers we will ask how you would like to be listed — by company name, by personal name, or not at all. Anonymous is always an option, and choosing it changes nothing about how your gift is used.

4. How often we will email you

Rarely. A receipt when you give, a note when the jar has covered something notable, and an invitation when we hold an event. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we will take care of your request as quickly as possible, no questions asked. Unsubscribing from updates does not stop your receipts, which we are required to send.

5. Changing or canceling a recurring gift

You can change or stop a monthly gift at any time, for any reason. Write to us and we will take care of your request as quickly as possible, no questions asked.

6. Where the money goes

Gifts are pooled and released against specific, verified bills, paid directly to the provider. We do not pay funds in cash to an individual. Our board reviews what has been released and we report back to donors on what it covered, with names removed.

7. Asking us to remove you

Write to amber@thecoinjar.org and we will delete everything we are not legally required to keep for financial records, and confirm when it is done.
